I've just read a review and the poster mentioned they had dinner in Portifino's on The Explorer of the Seas and there was a Murder Mystery theme.
I'd like to know if this happens on all the Itinerary or rare?
Also if anyone knows what night this takes place, I'll be taking a 12 nighter at the beginning of November and I'd like to treat my wife to a special night out.
Cheers peep.

Yes, I'm also curious about this! I'm going on Explorer in February and on these boards was the first I'd heard of it.

We did the mystery dinner on the Empress on our Bermuda cruise, it was in the middle of the week. It costs about $50 a couple, I think, I can not remember if the charge was per person or a couple. But is was NOT included. This was also offered on our recent Freedom cruise but it was the first night of the cruise and that was the only night it was offered. When we did it, we had a great time and it was fun. I did not figure out who did it but it was fun trying. The night started out in the Boleros Lounger where the murder happens and then moved to Portofino's for dinner. The dinner was amazing. If you can afford the extra dough I would recommend it but it seems like the night may be up in the air on all the sailings. Just check when you board because there are only a limited number of people to attend. Hope this helps.

I just got off the Freedom and it was also on the first night. The information about the price is correct. You get to solve a mystery, eat a fine meal and wine is included. I believe that the night may vary from ship to ship, depending on the iteneary. The cast consist of the dancers of the ship. So, I would think that the dinner will be on a night on which the main entertainment consist of a guest entertainer. You can alway check with Portofino's when you come aboard and they will tell you which night it would be. Be prepare to be the first night. As far a dress code, it's not enforce since they know that some people will not be getting their luggage until late. I received my luggage as I was leaving for dinner. My wife would not have had time to change into something different so we went as we were and nobody said anything. They understood. However, I apologized a few times anyway.

Thanks for the informations guys, I just hope getting a table won't be murder.
