Sounds like you both have earned it. I have only had an aft balcony once, on the Enchantment. I REALLY loved the aft balcony. I enjoyed it more than the side balconies. Wow, a hawaii cruise would be awesome for an aft balcony. Enjoy. Lil' Lori
Okay, aft, port, starboard...so I am not nautical. All I can say is we had a balcony cabin on the Radiance (on deck 9), on the "bubble," on the right side of the ship when we went to Alaska. It was the first balcony cabin we ever had; we won't do any other type of cabin, now. We were spoiled. We have a junior suite for the Eastern Caribbean(April 1).
I've had aft cabins on Radiance class ship and I love them. The balconies are 10 feet wide and 12 feet deep. That's 3 times larger than regular cabins that aren't suites. The Jewel is the same as the Radiance of the Seas. Here is a picture of an aft cabin balcony on deck 8. AFT BALCONY

Avenger, it should be the same size. I had a corner aft balcony on the Navigator PICTURE. If you aren't on the corner you'll have to look at the support steel that wraps around the aft of the Voyager class ships. PICTURE
Cabin 7654 is in the back of the ship, but not the aft. The aft cabin are behind the ship, not on the side. Looking at the RCCL site, your cabin seems to have a bigger balcony because of the deck plans. You have an E-1 catagory which is 179 sq ft. You can find your cabin HERE
