Snorkel Rentals on Explorer?

My husband and I are looking forward to some snorkeling at St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Does the Dive Shop on board Explorer rent snorkeling equipment to people who have not signed up for their shore excursions? We want to go snorkeling on our own at some of the beaches to which the RCCL tours do not go.

Royal Caribbean responded to my request from their web site... they don't rent snorkels, but they do sell them.

Just thought someone else might want to know this.
