Cousins-My girl and I have many years of cruising,we have cruised many cruise lines,some of which no longer exist and the ships are long gone. Currently we are enamored with the newest ships of NCL with their more "laid back" options and the variety of culinary delights. However, we enjoy cruising period! We have done CCL starting with the Mardi Gras,We have done Cunard aboard the QM when she was still crossing the Atlantic (ages 7 & 8-we're not that old!).
Yes, we have cruised these lines before but we do not necessarily really favor one over the other-more often it is the ship itself and the cruise destinations that help us decide with final cost always an overiding factor!

Here is a picture of cabin 8314 which is on the hump. It's really neat because you are cantilevered out so you can look down the side of the ship. You stick out just like the bridge of the ship. This picture was taken on the Explorer in Jan of 05. CLICK HERE

Oh, that looks cool...I understand about the "front side" of the hump. So then I take it our room is probably on the back side of the hump- 8660.

The BIG disadvantage (to some) is the fact that a hump balcony loses a LOT of privacy. We had one two weeks ago and every other balcony on that level (and the level above) can look into yours - so no hanky panky.

Of course, if you are gregarious, you can have a lot of nice conversations with your neighbors.

i just got back with FOS sunday. its awsome. we had the junior suite. i would get it if i was u. we were on deck 10 room 1612. balcony is huge.
