Cabin on FOS

Does anyone have any info or insight on cabins 9344 or 9348 on FOS. It looks to me like they are hump cabins. Would the balconies be larger or the same as the others? Thank you in advance for any info.

We had a cabin on the small front bump and it's balcony wasn't noticeably larger than a standard balcony - the bump balconies are sometimes shaped differently. For instance, ours was trapezoidal.

Hey Dave- where and what, are "hump" cabins ??? We're going on Explorer of the seas- cabin 8660...towards the back. Should we be worried?
Also cabins that overlook the Prominade...are they noisy or too light?

Hump cabins are those on the small humps or outward curvatures of the ship. Look at a photo of the Explorer and you'll see.

Cabin placement on newer ships is really not a factor anymore. A cabin in the aft part of the ship is fine. The cabins overlooking the promenade are quiet and the curtains are heavy enough that no light come in.

Dave, it looks to me that on deck 8 there is only a small outward curvature for the centrium (sp?) but on deck 5...below us...there is a big outward hump for the dining room????

Yes, the cabins on either side of Royal Caribbean Online on deck 8 are "on the hump".

So what exactly does that mean for our balcony? We were told it did not have an obscured view. We are on port side. Does that just mean the shape of the balcony is just different?

Your balcony is not obscured. It is just shaped a little different. This is nothing to be concerned about.

mamacat-Your cabins on FOS are in a great location on the "Hump" of the ship because they are on the downwind side of the "Hump". This means that the balcony will receive some shielding from the wind when the ship is at sea.
We are on the NOS in Jan 2009 in a similar cabin and are very much looking forward to it!
