I love my Diet Coke-but not from a fountain, only from a can or bottle. Should I bring my own cans or are cans available on the Navigator?

When you buy soda by the drink it comes in cans or bottles. Soda card purchases are fountain.

Thanks, Dave. Are the cans expensive or should I take my own? Do they have vending machines?

No vending machines. It is only served by the bars or room service. Soda is $1.50 per can plus an automatic 15% tip for the bar staff - $1.73 per can - which is a typical resort or hotel price.

RCCL has cracked down on personal alcohol being brought aboard, but a reasonable amount of soda (a 12 pack per person) appears to be acceptable when you do it on embarkation day. Cans are probably best. Bottles of soda may be suspect for having the original contents dumped and replaced with colored booze. A sign of the times, I'm afraid.

I thought you can get cans of coke with your soda card. If you drink a lot of soda that may be the way to go.

In our experience on RCCL the soda card only gets you fountain soda. Cans are for those buying by-the-drink.

Now, on Carnival ships they have stopped using fountain soda and their soda card gets you soda from a can - although they pour it into a glass so you don't get 12 ounces in one serving.

I'm glad I don't have these problems. I don't tend to worry about anything while I'm on a cruise. Everything I could possibly want is at my finger tips. Dave, just think, when you become a diamond member you can just go the concierge lounge and get a CAN of soda. Or, even two so you can replace the one you drank out of your fridge.

I'm getting there! We get two credits for the next cruise, which still leaves me 3 short of Diamond. And to think I could have been there by now if I had not split my cruises up among so many other lines.
