Thanks for the quick answer and clarification.
As I suspected it's the same view we got on the Explorer on deck 7, only half a dozen balconies in front of the hump.
Now just the count down to the BIG day.
Actually, the picture was from the Adventure; cabin 8622. There won't be any difference unless you're on a Freedom class ship; their baconies are wider. Our transatlantic cruise on the Navigator will be in cabin 8620, which is a bump out balcony cabin just like the Adventure. I'm hoping I'll be getting upgraded to a JS. If not, I have a great location with 8620.
Just so that you're totally clear on what I was referring to look back at the photo Sonny posted above. You see the balconies two deacks below where the blue stripe is on the ship? Sonny's deck 8 cabin has a tempered or plaxiglass lower section, below the railing. On all balconies on deck 6 and deck 6 only, that section where the stripe is painted is a steel banding on Voyager Class ships. RCCL does not consider it an obstructed view and it is not what would be a traditional obstruction. However, the glass/plexiglass is not there on deck 6. It's steel from the railing to the floor. You can see how the railing protrudes on all the other decks. No protrusion on Deck 6, the railing is mounted on the steel top of the cutout opening. I was on deck 6 of Adventure in a D1 balcony in Sept and can tell you for certain if you sit down in a chair and are not standing at the railing your view is not the same as on deck 7 and above. You simply can't look down at the water below, otherwise the view is fine.
We have 5 families going on Navigator April 3rd! Can't wait!!! Any good shows or fun things that we are sure not to miss while we are on board? Thanks! We are all very anxious for a fun spring break trip!
One thing you won't want to miss is the ice show. You have to get tickets, but they are free. You'll hear announcements on when and were you go the get them.
We just got off of the Navigator and loved her!! We had a balcony #7226 and the view was perfect. Plus it had easy access to the elevator and made getting around easy.
Don't miss anything! The shows were fantastic, the parades were great. The only small hitch we had was that the casino was smaller than we expected.
Have a great time. We are already booking another one!
Thanks Sonny for the recommendaton! We def will catch the ice show. Are the tickets hard to get? Was just wondering since we have so many of us going.....but I'm sure we all are not going to be sticking together the whole time and definitely the kids will be doing their own thing!
All of you don't have to stand in like for tickets, you just let them know how many you need. If anyone in your group is a diamond member or staying in a grand suite they can ask the Concierge to get them for all of you.
