Hello!

We are going to be cruising on Navigator of the Seas in February, and I have several questions!

1. We booked a oceanview guarantee. What does that really mean? Could we get upgraded to a balcony, or would we get a room in the worst area of the ship?!

2. I am probably going to get the soda option, because I drink a lot of soda pop. However, I am a Diet Mountain Dew drinker, and I see that they have coke products on board. Could I bring some Diet Dew on board without me or my pop getting thrown overboard?!

3 I had requested a table for 2 at the 8:30 seating, but then found out that boyfriend wants to be able to socialize. What are the odds that we would even get a table for 2?

4. One of our ports of call is Labadee. Anyone know the status of that port, due to the recent earthquake?

Thanks for all of your help!

Welcome to Cruise Chat.
Booking in a "Guarantee" means you "might" get an upgrade. Usually the upgrade is within the same category you booked. An upgrade can be the same category but a better location on the same deck or a higher deck, or it can be going from outside to a balcony or higher. In most cases it stays in the same category.

You can bring a small amount of your own soda.

Tables for two are limited. It will depend on how many people are on the list ahead of you. You can call back and request now to be changed to a larger table.

Labadee has not been affected by the earthquake.

You may want to keep that table for two. You could easily meet some people you like at an entertainment venue, by the pool, or even on the flight down and then see the head waiter to be moved where you can join each other. Just a thought.

My kids did the guarantee and got an inside room on a higher more premium spot for the guarantee price which was the lowest catagory available. But still, it was still and inside.

Since you're new to cruising, make sure you read the Cruise Compass newsletter each day...It gives you all the information you would need to know about the next day's activities, from shows to wine tastings, dinner times, movies, time to get off and back on the ship, etc...
We tried to get on that trip last wk, but it was sold out....
