Ok here is a great forum for a disussion on what we consider an important part of our cruise .... booze .. bubbles .. the grape ... etc etc etc. Hey guys we are spending thousands of dollars on this adventure of a lifetime. Why sweat the small stuff. Ok if you feel that putting one over on Royal is your thing great more power to you. I am a big drinker and my tab was $200 for 2 of us. Well worth it in my opinion and I woke up on most mornings feeling pretty darn good. Go for it if you must but in the big picture it not that big of a deail....

My hubby and I average $600 tab for 10 day cruise. I drink wine and he drinks beer. Once in a while we do a rum punch or a margarita. Last year I was bad, I had Baileys on the rocks in the casino after dinner, more than a couple Oh well, it's my vacation too

Dont quite know what are bar tab was, although we bought the "after dinner" shots every night and the "drink of the day" every day plus a bucket of Corona here and there and whatever my wife was drinking, I figured for the two of us it was easily $250 plus we brought two bottles of rum and a bottle of vodka on board

There will be an automatic 15% gratuity on all bar services. I don't know how this money is split -

Hey Penny,

Will you give us a report on the Princess and Costa when you get back? I'm curious about both. Thanks! Also, I swear, I just talked with someone yesterday who said they knew someone who had a $2,000.00 bar tab when they got off the ship. Is that even possible????

I just returned from a cruise on the Majesty. The bartender in the champagne bar told us that one evening she served a woman 10 chocolate martinis. Those probably cost $8.00 each so if you did that every evening you could probably rack up a pretty hefty bar tab, not to mention, a hefty hangover!

Hi CruisySuzi,
You bet I'll post when we get back. This will be our second cruise on the Sun Princess. I'm hoping it will be as nice as the Sea (twice) and the Dawn (once). The itinerary is awesome. I am excited about the Magica as well.

I would believe a $2000/bar bill without a doubt. We had a couple on the Sea a few years ago that I know had at least that much. They had champagne with dinner most nights, after dinner drinks, and I always saw them with a drink in hand any time they were on deck. They were really great guys and had a great time. They also did a huge shopping spree in St. Thomas. We went to Trunk Bay. Best wishes!

Who knows if they weren't buying rounds for others on that bar bill too.
