A typical question, I'm sure but I could only find old posts on the subject. Can you purchase liquor other than wine for in room consumption? I'd love to be able to sit on the balcony at night vs. the bar and enjoy a cocktail.
Hi michelleh, welcome to Cruise-Chat. While there are some cruise lines that do offer an in room package, Royal is not one of them. We typically go up to the Lido deck and bring our cocktails back to the room. It is nice to enjoy them on the balcony. As Dave stated, you can always use room service. Best wishes for a fantastic cruise, and once again, welcome aboard!
Yes—if you purchase liquor aboard the ship they hold it until the last night. I hope you have a fantastic cruise vacation with Royal Caribbean. Please let all of us know about it after you return.
If Royal Caribbean has the stocked mini fridges (I don't know) another option may be to mix your own in the cabin. I know Carnival has the fridges stocked and plenty of ice. The price is the same as at the bar. The only thing is you have to prepare it yourself and still pay a 15% gratuity. I've never figured that one out.
RCI only puts sodas in the mini-fridge these days. I am almost certain they used to put booze in them but I can't remember. Maybe I am thinking of Celebrity.
There is no liquor in the mini-fridges on Royal Caribbean ships. I hear people talking about sneaking booze into their rooms, but they're taking a stupid chance by doing that. If caught, they could regret it for a long time. Braking rules is something I try to avoid.
