My roommate and I are going on a cruise soon. We're both young, early to mid 20's and we want to find a cruise that has other singles, or young people. What cruise line/ship would best accomodate us?

Singles are on all cruise lines. I went as a single on HAL and Carnival, but they go on all ships. The younger age groups will be on your shorter cruises 4-7 day, and mostly in the Caribbean. You and your roommate will find plenty of people your own age on almost any ship. Find a good cruise specialist and they can match your interests and requirements to a ship. Best wishes and welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Hello Penny:

My name is Penny, also. I just returned from Europe/Meditterean Cruise on a Celebrity ship, The Millenium. To my knowledge, there were no singles on board. Perhaps the shorter cruises will have more singles. I wasn't really looking but when I saw your post.....I just had to update you with my thoughts. Only bad thing about my cruise, was returning to Tampa and having to go back to work.

courtney, at your age and looking for singles of similar age and intersests I'd say you'd be best served to look at Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Look for a week or less and western caribbean or Bahamas seem to draw a little younger crowd.

NCL has a few newer ships that are now drawing a younger crowd as well. The pearl, their newest ship seems to have all the goodies that draw younger people (water slide, rock wall, etc.) including a bowling alley, the first on a cruise ship.

Whatever you decide, get back to us and let us know what you chose and how you enjoyed it.

Cheers, neil

If you are looking to cruise whith singles, there are a few things to keep in mind. Singles/post grads usually have a fair amount of debt. Because of this, they will be taking predominantly the short cruises. And if you are really interested in single cruises, look online to see when University of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and FSU, and Florida take the break between semesters. Cruising from New Orleans should prove hilarious during those times.

Yup, the SEC (Southeastern Conference, not the Security Exchange Commission) is notorious for their parties; can't say much for the education, though!

Good information on this thread. Glad I'm not single. All I was going to offer was the Carnival Desperation.
