spent 3/28 - 4/6 aboard Explorer. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the cruise a 9! Embark and disembark were Dante's Inferno with luggage. If RCCL can fix the onshore boarding / deboarding, rating would be 10. Food was good, ship was in excellent condition and very comfortable, and staff is the best I've experienced. Have already booked next year's cruise about RCCL! No worries here, mate! email me for more indepth, or if you have any questions.

Hi Tony and welcome to Cruise Chat.

I'm happy to hear you had such a great cruise on Explorer. Agree that embarkation and dis can be a zoo sometimes, on all cruise lines.

Which ship did you book for next year?

tonyfromnj-
i am so glad to hear you are rating explorer a 9 out of 10 and that the boat is still in good shape. i am leaving in about a month for my cruise on explorer and i am getting very excited! i was concerned because we chose a ship that has been out for awhile and I heard some people saying "you can tell the ship has been out for awhile and it needs repairs" type of thing. What cruise director did you have?

TonyfromNJ-It was good to see your quick commentary on the Explorer-We are due outbound to the Eastern Carib on her next April-I'm sure she'll stay in great shape until then!

We were on the Explorer for our first cruise - 7 nite Eastern Caribbean in 2003 and loved it. We are now booked on a 12 nite Caribbean cruise for March 15th of 2009...can't wait!

Tonyfromnj, we were on the Explorer last April and found her to be the same as you; good to hear the updated good news.

Welcome back tonyfromnj, glad to hear your cruise was a success! I think most of the embarkation/debarkation problems stem with the port authority, some with the cruise lines, but mainly the port authority, to me. Let us know what ship you're on next.
