I am sailing to the Panama Canal March 13, 2009. That cruise is a long way off but we are hoping to have a large turnout of friends for this one. One side note, RCCL does not have the best discount for large bookings. They only offer 1 free fare for every 8 cabins booked. If we were to distribute it evenly with the 8, everyone would only get about $200 or so back. It would be the same for 32 cabins booked ... $200 each. We are basically paying full fare but have six points to use. These points are for champagne in each roomm, cocktail party, etc. Another friend of mine booked a large party through Princess and received balcony cabins for $1,000 each. That's a big difference. I'd rather pay for my own bubbly and take a major break on the cabin. Ah, such is life.
