RCL Victim I have friends that sounded just like you after there first cruise and they were on Carnival. They did not like anything about it,just like you wrote.Like i told them, maybe cruising is not for them and maybe they need to go to a 5 star hotel on some island somewhere. But in the back of my mind, I thought they would find something to complain about it too !

I would like to ask the RCL 'Victim' what pre cruise research did he/she do? Did they ask from their tour operator or RCL direct what was involved and also Im intrigued to know what 'lies' she was told that 'made her book'?

Dying to know - as I've never been lied to by them, quite the opposite, they would actually give you tips on how to save here and there.

I await your response

Poor RCLvictim:
In 11 days we will be boarding Navigator of The Seas to start our 5th cruise with RCCL. We can hardly wait to be pampered and treated like King & Queen again. I can only say if you can complain about the way you were treated on a RCCL ship you must have a wonderful life at home.

Dear RCI Victim, SORRY ! Agree with Dave and all others regarding RCI and the service and overall food, etc...yup, cruising is just not for you - try an all inclusive if you haven't done so already, maybe that is your gig..

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BAD CRUISE.....
SOME ARE JUST BETTER THAN OTHERS......

Sorry to be shouting....but come on...go get a pup tent and camp out in the Everglades if you think RCL was that bad....even on my worst cruise it wasn't as bad as RCLvictim claims...Happy Cruising in 2009 to everyone else...

Yes there are bad cruises,

actually mine was on the "adventure of the seas" of RCCL.
I had been on 4 cruise (3 on Carnival Destiny and 1 the adventure of the seas). In my point of view cruising is a way of life, maybe you like it or maybe you not but that really depends on the company service too.

Many of my friends had travel over the years with RCCL and they say their services had been changing, Now what usually was free, have a "NOMINAL FEE" and the keep charging for everything that was usually free, like Johnny Rockets.
As I see it Carnival does the same. but they are not as obvius as RCCL, Carnival change their buffets and give you Burritos at midnight during a few nights in order to get a little $$$ extra and for me that's ok I still get to eat a lot during my cruise and enjoy every minute of it...

But RCCL is diferent, in my case, they didn't give us any food option at all they just cancel any food after 9 pm. every night of my cruise just to make extra money I actually lose weight after my cruise
Can you believe that??
that's only one of my complains to the company, and there are few, but I don't want to sound like I will never cruise again, I enjoy cruising.
There are other options, in my case I will not cruise with RCCL for the moment, but I will stay with carnival and Princess until the economy get's better and RCCL get back to basics.
Who knows, maybe in the future they will learn from there errors and get back to what they use to be...

It is standard procedure for the buffet dinner to close at 9 or 9:30pm. Are you saying you had no room service, no 24 hour snacks and sandwiches at Cafe Promenade, and no pizza after 9pm? Did they run the second seating passengers out of the dining room at 9?
