Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited has announced it is switching to e-docs as the default process for it's Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, and Azamara brands.
This is effective for bookings made on or after December 13. Guests sailing with RCI and Celebrity who still want paper documents will be charged $35. The fee will be waived for Azamara bookings.
Recently, RCI added an option to it's online check-in which allows guests to order pre-printed luggage tags with no charge, so I assume this will continue and be expanded to Celebrity and Azamara if it hasn't already. All other documents are electronic.
All we received for our Celebrity cruise were luggage tags and two booklets for purchasing extras like alcohol, petit fours, etc. I had requested paper documents, but guess that's gone with the wind, too. I filled out everything on-line and printed our boarding passes.
I guess they see CCL is getting away with it...despite protest. E-Docs had been the default option for a few years now. At least they (RCCL) have the no charge luggage tags. Is that still going to be an option?
My docs weren't wire bound, but they did contain a lot of extraneous information. This will save on printing and mailing costs.
How can I print my luggage tags at home? I don't have the labels and if I print on reg paper, the labels won't be adhesive or the same weight or shiny surface that the tags have now.
