My daughter and I will be traveling on Serenade of the Seas in June 2009 for one of the Alaskan voyages. Can anyone who has traveled on Serenade of the Seas let me know any tips, ship highlights and whether they have room safes. We are in an interior room on Deck 4.
According to the RCI website, all the cabins on the Serenade have a safe. I've not cruised on this ship but my understanding is that class of vessel has a good amount of room compared to the passenger loading. The ship has both of the extra-fee restaurants - Portofino and Chops. Lots of windows. Pretty fast for a cruise ship too. Serenade can make around 26 knots when she needs to.
We were on the Serenade last year and we discovered a wonderful little cafe on deck 12 called the Seaview Cafe. Most people don't find in for the first couple of days, but it's great place. I would be a great place to just sit back and check out Alaska.

Aft balcony cabins are extremely popular and given June is just a little ways off, it is likely you won't have a choice of decks, or even find an open aft balcony cabin (which are cat. D1 or JS). I just looked at the June 6th cruise aboard the Serenade and there is one open D1 cabin on the aft. That could change but I wouldn't waste time debating the deck. On that ship it really isn't a huge issue, as opposed to the Voyager or Freedom class.
Hi friends in USA
Thanks a lot Dave - we have got the 8670 although it is close to a family cabin-hopefully our neighbours won't be too noisy.
Thanks also to Rick for the foto - after seeing it we could not have decided but for the Serenade.
I just booked aft cabin 8670 on the Serenade. I see conflicting info, some say great balcony and some say they would never take it again. Do you have a comment or picture to share? Thanks!
