Hi all, New to Cruise Chat. We are cruising Explorer of the Seas in March to the Western Caribbean. Since there is only one specialty restaurant, are we allowed to make reservations there for more than one night? From the rave reviews of Portofino, I think hubby is going to want to eat there every night!
Thanks, Sonny. Have learned a LOT from Cruise-Chat. This is the first time we're taking the kids on a cruise (ages 13 and 15), so I'm having to look at shore excursions in a whole new light (no booze cruises this time!)Doing the Western Caribbean. Explorer of the Seas sounds magnificent. We were going to do the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel, but it appears Chankanaab has been ruined by the hurricane. Guess it's off to Xcaret. Would like to see some ruins, but think the kiddies would be bored with the long bus rides.
Hey there nc liz. We are going to the Western Caribbean on Mariner over spring break. There is a large group of us going with all of our kids. We have booked the Royal Dolphin Swim at Chankanaab directly through dolphindiscovery.com. My husband and I did it with some friends in 2001 at Chankanaab and it was beautiful. Margarita has been working with us to book this and she told me that the park has been undergoing construction but that by the time we go, it should be in really good shape and the programs are still going on there. It sure beats the 45 minute ferry ride and the trek to Xcaret! Best of luck and have a great vacation with the kids!
Hi ohio sport mom. Yes, the dolphins are back, but from reading the port reviews, Chankanaab still doesn't look like it is in very good shape, at this point. What to do, what to do....
Hey, hubby born and raised in Cincinnati. Go Bearcats!
