Hi there, I just have a question about cruise insurance. Our cruise is about 2 years from now and I'm wondering if we should buy the insurance now or wait until it gets closer? Last time, we bought insurance 3 months away from the cruise, but this time its so much longer.

Any suggestions? Thank you

I'm so sorry, I know I asked the same question more than once, but I'm confused.Because my cruise date is so far away,if I buy the insurance for a cruise now and insurance for air fare later, combine them both it is kind expensive.Should I wait until I book the airline ticket to get the insurance?.Dave and Cruise Fanatic once told me that I should get insurance with in 14 days of first payment.I still remember that ,but I don't want to purchase insurance twice. Please tell me what to do,it was a long exhausted day at work. Sorry if I sound silly (stupid).

I always buy my insurance just before the final payment is due. There's no need to buy it before then. If you have to cancel your cruise before the final payment is due, which is about 70 days from the sail date, you will be able to get you down payment back. Hope this is of some help...

Tanya, most cruise insurance will cover you for cancellations due to pre-existing medical conditions IF you purchase the insurance within a week or two (depending on the insurance) of your first deposit. If the deposit on your cruise was made more than 2 weeks ago, or if pre-existing conditions are not a concern to you, then I agree that you can wait until final payment time to purchase insurance.

Hi,Sandy. My family has 6 people. My four kids are all healthy. My husband has a little bit of asthma, but he said it's not a big concern so I'm going to buy it later. Do they even have an insurance for the sickness of waiting for my next cruise?

Sure, Tanya, that kind of insurance is called Cruise-Chat! We're all here because we're not on a cruise, where we'd rather be. All except Dave, that is, who IS here and on a cruise!

Can anyone guarantee they won't have to go to the Doctor between the time they pay a deposit and make final payment? If you go to the Doctor one month after deposit you just created a pre-existing condition and it won't be covered because you missed the 7-14 day cut off.
