First cruise-Grandeur of the seas

My husband and I are going on our first cruise in April and I had a question. We have a 1 year old who will be staying with her Grandparents. is there a number on the ship that they can get ahold of us? how do we get this number?
Also, what is the best to do, use our cel phones (I don't even know if they would work), or call from the ship? Where do we call from? how expensive is that? this will be my first time away from our little one and I know I will want to call a few times.

You can purchase a plan through RCCL and use your cell phone onboard throughout the cruise. I had a brochure her the other day I will track it down..

If you call using the ships phone it is only a mere $7.95 a minute. That would be a ship to shore call.

If you can wait till you get to each port. Then if you currently have a cell phone it will work from Mexico, Grand Cayman, Belize, Jamaica. Just call when you get to the port.

Calls can be made and faxes sent to the ship, when the ship is at sea and not in port. Ask your travel agent to call Royal Caribbean and get the phone and fax numbers for the Grandeur.
