Hi there,
we are thinking of going on a cruise in May. Brilliance of the seas from Hamburg, 4 nights.
We - thats my wife, my then 9 month old daughter and me. We have to pay 281 Dollars each adult and 223 Dollars for our daughter - who isnt eating, playing, climbing etc. on board. We think thats pretty unwise to take the same price for an adult third person at the cabin AND for an 9 month old little girl as the third person.
Does anybody knows how to minimize or even to avoid that childrens fare?
Thank you very much for your answers,
best regards
Rene

Hi Rene,

There is no way to avoid that fare. Royal Caribbean charges a reduced rate for the third person, but it's the same rate no matter how old, or young, that person is.

Unfortunately, the only way to avoid the fare is to leave your daughter home or take her on a cruise line that just charges port tax for children under 2.

But your daughter will be eating, playing, and they do have to clean up after her just like an adult...there are babysitting services on most ships...just remember to have some alone time with your wife.....and have a great cruise....and yes, that is a lot for an infant, but that's the way things are....

One way to minimize the cost of 3rd and 4th occupant in the future is book as early as possible. That's especially true with RCCL. Since pricing is directly affected by availability and RCCL is a very popular line for family cruising, quad and triple cabins get booked up well before they run low on double occupancy cabins. That forces the pricing up on add'l pax in these high demand cabins.

Cheers, Neil
