In past cruises we have always tipped the room service Stewards and Stewardesses anyway. Adding a built in gratuity fee will probably end up saving some of us money!

They could break up the crowding at Sorrento's and the Cafe Promenade by having those food items available in the Windjammer too - say until 1am.

One thing I like about Carnival is their pizza stand is open 24 hours a day. I think they close for a few hours on debarkation morning. And it is good pizza too. They will flat knock out a line of people in quick time. The pizzas are constantly coming out of the oven and on the rack, right before your eyes.

Hi Leigh,

Its just that 3.95 is ok fair enough at that hour of the night but you STILL have to tip after that, so thats bringing it up again

I have a few questions, I was talking with my wife about this fee the other day and , as I remember, They already charge for it.

Let me explain:

I travel on the AOS during 2006 and I remember seeing a Room service food menu on the cabin with prices,

THAT'S WHY I NEVER USED ROOM SERVICE DURING MY CRUISE ON THE AOS I WAS A NEW CRUISER THEN!!!

by that time, the way I see it then, RCCL would have charge me for it. I always give a tip so it was $5.99 + tip for a sandwich so I was better off not eating. I know some canapes are object to price, but for all I remember it was mostly normal food like sandwiches and other few other entries.

Only a few months later I discovered, on cruise chat, I had the room service option during my cruise.I also don't know which part of the menu are object to charge on the room service menu.

Why they put this food menu with prices on your cabin for their room service?

with this new "fee"

will you have to pay the price on the menu and the new fee or just the new fee?

This room service menu only happens on 7 days cruises??

No. The $3.95 includes tip so there is no expectation for anything more.

I don't know what you saw on the Adventure Of The Seas. My recollection is the room service menu only charged for things such as party platters and bar purchases. The sandwiches and hamburgers were always "no charge".

Regardless, if you look here you can download the current RCI room service menu which shows all the items that are included in your cruise fare. These items will have the service charge added if you order them between midnight and 5am. Drink orders will not have the fee assessed.
