I'm leaving Jan 7 for a Bahamas trip and am curious about water temp for my snorkel excursion in Nassau. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I'll keep them in mind. I see that you're in North Texas. I'm a transplanted Texan. I lived near Amarillo. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you too & enjoy your time in Nassau. We had a blast when we were there..

Hello,
My wife and I just got back from a cruise that went to Nassau. The water was a little chilly, but not anything that was unbearable. We got used to it fairly quickly. Have fun. |
I'm not sure about the water temp in Nassau but the gulf water in Florida is 70 degrees today.

Thank ya'll for your responses. I'm just curious about the water temps as I tend to be a sissy when it comes to cold water - but I think I'm looking so forward to this and to snorkeling that I'll survive. ha!

Debbie, I too am a sissy to cold water. We have wetsuits. Depending what ship you are on you may be able to rent a shorty wetsuit. I do know that the Explorer of the Seas has a dive shop onboard & you can rent them there. They aren't that expensive if you want to buy one for yourself. At least that way you will be the warmest one in the water!!

That's a great idea AllyGirl. I've been looking online for some. Just undecided on the sizing since my old body shape doesn't always measure up with their size charts!
Now I have another crazy question. We will be walking around Nassau for 1/2 a day then heading for the first snorkeling excursion. Do I just wear my swimsuit and take a wetsuit along and slip it on over it if it's too cold for me or what? Guess I'm not up on setsuit etiquette! ;o) |
I also see my 'ticker' isn't tickin' right either! Geeze!
