getting on Adventure

Does anyone who has sailed on RCCL's Adventure from San Juan, southern Carib. itinerary, have advice about getting on the ship early? We usually arrive around 11:30, despite what the published time for getting on the ship may be, and that's worked better than waiting. We also tend to reject the cruise transportation in favor of taking a taxi on our own. Anyone have any experiences with this? Thank you!

When are you going? We will be sailing her on 8 Feb.

A taxi from the airport to the pier will cost about $16 and they are readily available at the airport. As for what time you can board - not sure. On my last cruise out of San Juan, on the Radiance, it was just a little before 2:00 pm before they allowed anyone to board.

The Adventure of the Seas is scheduled to sail at 10pm and I spoke to RCL and they indicate that boarding will begin at approximately 7 pm for our sailing on 8 Feb. Check your itinerary. Bon Voyage!

We're going Feb 29th on the Adventure of the Seas. Our cruise documents indicate boarding at 4:00 PM....I'm hoping we can get on sooner than that!

OK.....We just returned from our first cruise on the Adventure of the Seas. We had air arrangements and port transfers through RCCL. We arrived at San Juan at 11:30 AM, claimed our baggage and took it out to the awaiting trucks to have it moved to the ship. We boarded a bus that left the airport at 12:30. Fifteen minute ride to the ship, and fifteen minutes to process in. We were on the ship by 1:00....Smooth and efficient. It appears that if your air and port transfers are arranged through RCCL, then you have a better chance of getting on the ship earlier. There were others standing outside waiting to get in. We were told they were locals, and people that took cabs to the pier.....
