Hi there my husband and I are sailing on the Radiance of the Seas Oct 2011 from Sydney to Perth,as we are from Australia we are unfamilar with tipping,can someone help us out here.We would like to know what is expected from us in regards to personal tipping on the ship,and what currency should we be using on board.

Hello - Welcome to Cruise-Chat!
I think the easiest way is just to go to the Guest Relations Desk once you're on board the ship. They will have all the information for you. You can even arrange pre-paid vouchers that will be delivered to your state room on the last day of your cruise.

Hi sweetred61, welcome to Cruise-Chat! Congratulations on your up-coming cruise! They offer auto-tipping here in the states, it's just added to your on board account. They also offer prepaid gratuities, so that you can have everything paid for before you depart. You might want to check with your travel agent or with RCI to see if those options are available to you as well. The ships usually operate in USD, at least here in the states, but I'm sure they can handle any currency at the purser's desk. Again, I'd give my travel agent or RCI a buzz and ask. Maybe we have some Australian members that can answer conclusively. I don't want to give you any bad information
