inside stateroom

Hello,
I know with inside staterooms they say it has two twin beds which can be converted to a queen. Is this something I need to call RC and request or do you do it yourself once on board?

Your cabin steward will ask you the first time he sees you if you want the beds together, then he'll take care of it for you.

The beds are usually together. To me it seems like the room is bigger when the beds are apart.

That is normally arranged with the cabin steward that first day. When you coem to you cabin when you board, the stewards will come introduce themselves. If the beds are apart, ask them to put them together (Normally they are together). We normally go with our two girls and we ask that the pull bown berth be opened at night and that the sofa/bed be opened.. You only have to ask them once and they will have it set up be bedtime.

thats because the two small spaces on either side of the bed, when together, make one big space in the middle when the beds are seperated !
