hump rooms on explorer

What, if any is the benefit of the hump rooms? I think you might be able to lean out and see the entire ship. Are the balconies the same size or a bit bigger?

The balconies are the same size. Here is a picture I took from my balcony about 3 weeks ago on the Adventure of the Seas.
