Hi, I have just booked a cruise on the Explorer of the seas. I love a good atmosphere and ots of people around, i love it when places are busy. I sumhow have a feeling like where almost gona be the only people on the ship, i dont know how busy cruises are at this time and having already booked not thinking about this im now a little concerened. I dont wanna be drinking on my own and obviously i want there to be a few morew people around my age 18-25 to socialise with, dont wanna be drinking on my own. I can imagine even though there are a lot of people on this ship it can seem empty from the sheer size whereas same people on a smaller ship maybe half the size but be crammed.
COuld someone please advice me on how busy they think it will be on this cruise...as i have no idea wotsoever...Obviuosly if someone went at this time last year it wud be great but i know last year it sailed from miami not new york but did another ship do these trips last year...WOuld anyone have been on that one.
Matt I cant speak for your ship, but I am going on the Freedom sailing on Sept. 24th and I know our ship is sold out...But that is probably because it is a new ship. I really highly doubt you will be left drinking alone, I have yet to hear a cruise ship set sail with one person aboard..lol..just kidding..but seriously I dont think you have anythign to worry about.
I've been on a lot of Royal Caribbean ships and never saw an empty one yet. Chances are the ship will sell out, at least that's what I'm told everytime I try to get an upgrade.
Matt, the advantage of sailing in September is that there will be less children on board because of school. We sail every year between September and December and the ships are always pretty full, there will be children, but compared to summer time its a nice change, in fact thats why we prefer that time of year. During summer and spring break there are as many as 800+ kids on the larger ships, during fall time you will see around 100 or so kids. So enjoy you cruise..you will not be alone. Just a heads up...the Freedom of the Seas will have anywhere from 1000 to 1500 children aboard during high season...too many for me..lol.
