Traveling with pre-teen children

We are going to be taking our children (8 & 12) on their first cruise next year (our third on RCL) and was wondering how much there is to do for a twelve year old. I know they have great programs for younger kids but afraid that our pre-teen may get bored with their activities.

Any suggestions?

your pre-teen will not get bored. Depending on what time of the year you cruise, there may be several other pre-teens for your child to hang out with. If the club activities are boring, then your child SHOULD be old enough to explore the ship with other pre-teens (along with several parent check-ins).

Depends on which ship your thinking about. We just got off explored on the 27th and if your thinking about one of the mega ships there is no way your children will get bored. We traveled with our daughter who is a little younger then yours, she turned 5 on the ship and she had a wonderful time, so much so that she told us to leave when we came to pick her up, My husband overheard 2 children about 10 or 11 saying "this cruise is so cool I just want to stay for a whole year". Just thought I'd tell you that since your children are about that age, if you have any question let me know.
