What kind of extras are available? I heard about a mattress pad that you can ask for and a softer blanket. I also heard you can request a little refrigerator. Is that true? Specifically, I use a latex foam pillow. Has anyone ever heard of those being available? Any other goodies that would be nice to have?
About coffee - 2 questions. Is the coffee good? (I like it good and strong). Secondly, will room service bring you a pot of coffee every morning (w/o charge but with tip)? Do I tip right away or do it in the end-of-trip envelopes?
To the administrators: This forum is awesome - so much helpful information!!
I know you can get a mattress pad, not sure about the blanket or the refrigerator. We usually book a balcony room and they have refrigerators in them. All the cruises we've been on (16) have had decent coffee. You can order a pot every morning, there's a card in your room, and they will bring it without charge. We tip the room service waiter/ess upon receipt of what we have ordered. The reason is it will not normally be the same person delivering each time. Hope this helps and have a wonderful cruise.
Hi Xanana,
What ship are you sailing on? Most of the ships have refrigerators in the cabin. You can request anything and they will try to accommodate you. Just ask your cabin steward. The coffee is too strong for me, so you'll probably love it. You will receive envelopes at the end of the cruise to put your tips in.
Hello Xanana,
What makes a big difference in ships is the "class" of ship. The Rhapsody is a "Vision" class ship. The "Radiance" and "Voyager" class ships are newer and Bigger ships. If you are going to book another cruise, I would suggest doing it aboard the Rhapsody. This way you will get a $100 onboard credit to use on your next cruise. A "Voyager" class ship will blow your mind.
If you're in an inside cabin on the Rhapsody, I'm afraid you won't find a refrigerator. We very seldom use our refrigerator when on a cruise. There is always plenty of ice, if we want more we just ask our cabin steward.
