I noticed from your ticker on a previous post that you are going on the Mariner of the Seas. I have looked at this boat and it's routes. Have you ever been on it? If not will you let us know how you like it?
I have been to the ports of call before (for both of its routes) but I have not been on the Mariner before. This is my first time on a RCCL ship. We have done mostly Carnival cruises (with the exception of one NCL cruise) and we like Carnival. I thought we would try a RCCL cruise to see what the fuss is about and if it is really worth the extra money that RCCL asks for their cruise. I plan on writting a full comparision on RCCL versus CCL when I return. Others have asked about this also.
I'll post something ASAP when I return. I'm not as crazy as Dave who brings a laptop on his cruises. I have WAY to many better things I can spend my cruising minutes on.
Jim, I have a feeling you'll be wanting to book another RCCL after being on the Mariner. If you do, check out the new "Next cruise booking" program RCCL has. I'm thinking of booking the Mariner for the September 2nd cruise. I already have a booking number I can use from my "Next cruise booking". If I use it, I'll get a $100 on board credit. Have a great cruise!
Yes. The Mariner is the newest of the Voyager class ships, not counting the Freedom and Liberty. The Mariner and Navigator are very simular. I made up my mind today to book the Mariner again. I guess that would indicate what I think of her.
Well, Sonny has a somewhat biased opinion in that he ONLY cruises RCCL. And there is nothing wrong with that. But, I am already hooked... I just want to see if there is enough of a difference between RCCL and CCL cruises to make the extra cost justifiable.
And yes Sonny, we already are planning the next cruise and if we like the Mariner we will be booking the next cruise on board. We figured we would hold off on booking until we could see for ourselves what the fuss is about.
3 more days! Wow... I can't believe it has finally got here... I'm at work.. but not really
