June 4-Mariner cruising with kids?

Hi. My husband, 9 year old daughter, and I are booked on the Mariner for the June 4 cruise. Is anyone else booked on this cruise with kids in this age range? I thought maybe our kids could exchange emails (forwarded through their parents email addresses) so that they have a friend as soon as they arrive. Let me know if you are interested.

Good morning Secret Squirrel, if you dont get any response for meeting before boarding the ship, just make sure that you take your daughter the first night to the kids camp. This way they will definetly meet the other kids on the ship and you will have a chance to meet with the camp counselors. Since you are sailing on June 4th, there should be plenty of kids on board.

We are sailing on June 4 and have a 10 year old son. He is super friendly (never met a stranger). I can't wait. I was just looking for excursion advice on the board and came upon your post.

Are you as excited as we are? I am counting down the days. My daughter is also "outgoing"
Some friends of ours went on this exact cruise last summer with their nine year old daughter and told us they had to force her to leave the kids program and spend some time with the family. From everything I have read on the boards, it is a really well run program. If your son would like to "chat" with my daughter before the cruise, you can have him send emails directly to me and I will forward them on. On the other hand, I know most of the boys in her class still consider girls to be icky, so if he doesn't, I understand. I hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise.

That sounds great. I am getting so excited. I'm looking to book the excursions soon. Did your friend say which ones they did and which ones they liked. I've seen alot of traffic on 3rd party excursions. It makes me a little nervous doing that but everyone seems to really like it. I'm sure he would like to talk to your daughter. I'm so excited to see some people on that cruise! Our group of four is all adults - my husband (45), his sister (57), our son (21) and me (41). We're all SO excited and can hardly wait to get on board. Your daughter must be looking forward to the big adventure!

Are you kidding...I am driving my husband crazy with talking to him about it, and my daughter is just as bad. We booked our first shore excursion yesterday. We are swimming with the dolphins on Cozumel. You should go to http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=199130
It is a board just for people cruising on the Mariner on June 4th. You can sign up for the meet and mingle and "talk" to fellow cruisers.
