Can someone tell me what activities are on board for 50+ year olds and what machines are in the health club, is the health club busy and do you have to wait to get on ellipticals? What do they charge extra for??? On NCL they charged for yoga and pilates and I absolutely refuse to pay, this cruise is expensive to begin with! Is there a charge to eat at Johnny Rockets?

I'll try to answer your question...it really depends on the ship. One the larger Voyager and Freedom class ships the gyms are pretty large and I've never seen anyone wait for on elliptical or treadmill as there seems to be plenty. On the smaller ships where the gyms are a little smaller then you may have to wait for a little while. All of the ships I have been on have had outstanding facilities. They also have numerous activities planned , some cost and some don't. You will just have to check it out when you get onboard.

There is a small fee to eat at Johnny Rockets but it includes all you can eat. You will have to pay for some specialty items though.

There's plenty of activity aboard the Explorer, some that come to mind are: a basketball court, mini-golf course, roller-blade track; rock climbing wall, running track, and a first class health club with machines and free weights. Here is a picture of just a small part of the exercise area.
