we come by train to Penn Station and usually cruise out of New York. Any suggestions how to get from Penn Station to Bayonne pier. We alway come the day before the cruise.
thanks
Hi Lildog5, welcome to Cruise-Chat. This website may help you out. It's only about 12 1/2 miles from Penn Station to Bayonne Pier, so even a cab shouldn't be too terribly expensive. Hope you have a wonderful cruise, and once again, welcome aboard!
you could also try here....it will give you subway/bus/walking directions
very usefull sight, not just for cruisers
EDIT - ok, i just re-read your post and saw you are leaving from NJ. I'm not sure that website will help you. But for other people leaving from NY (or a few other cities around the US), it is very helpful. It will even estimate a taxi cost for you
I am leaving next week for my cruise of Cape Liberty and had a very difficult time finding transportation to the pier. I am not sure where the subway system is in relation to the Newark airport but I ended up finding a van company to take my whole party for like around $25pp roundtrip. I can give you the name of the company if you are interested. I found out through my research that most companies in NY can't drive you to New Jersey because their license only permits them to drive to Newark airport and back to NY. On the other hand, taxi cab was going to be $40 ea way. We have 7 people in our party so that was not economical for us. Hope this helps.
sorry, penny, i don't actually know that....i avoid cabs whenever i can (prefer the subway), and have never actually taken one to NJ before...prob because of the reasons cubs720 mentioned
by the way, i see you leave for your cruise tomorrow - enjoy!!
