Hi Sam, last year on FOS they did have a midnight buffet. I was kind of disappointed though because I recalled the buffet to be much more spectacular. But still it was nice.
Hope that helps, Lucy

We last cruised in 2000. Going on the EOS in Oct 2009 and Oasis in July 2010.
Thanks, Sam
I have a friend who just return from the Gem. He said there was 1 night where they did a midnight buffet but he was dissapointed. Ice schulpter was small and ordinary, the food not that spectacular. He had a grand time but remembered his last cruise in 1994 being much better food wise. He said his last cruise was on the Fantasy (Carnival)
Royal Caribbean has gotten away from doing midnight buffets every night. This is because is was usually a lot of wasted food and they simply became less popular. Plus, on the Voyager and Freedom classes there is food available 24/7 in the Cafe Promenade.
On the typical 7 night Caribbean cruise they will now have "Midnight Delights" on most nights. These are snacks served in a couple bars and the casino. They'll usually have one midnight pool party with a buffet line (Mexican and Caribbean-style food is common). And on the Liberty Of The Seas last year they did have a "Culinary Extravaganza" buffet on one night. This was in the Windjammer.
With most ships having a 24-hour restaurant, I think the Midnight Buffet is a thing of the past, plus most people don't want to eat that late anymore.....On NCL, the chocolate buffet is early in the evening and not all that spectacular......but if you like chocolate covered strawberries and bananas, it's just fine....Happy Cruising.....It's still the best deal in town:-)....
We had a midnight buffet on Liberty of the Seas in October and it was a BIG disappointment, it was held outdoors and just wasnt good. Previously I had seen one on Voyager of the Seas, it was spectacular indoors in the windjammer, I have great photos and the ice sculptures are amazing! Was expecting Liberty to be an even bigger affair but very disappointed indeed!
