That's just the way that RCCL does things. It will be fine. Problem is that I hope that you're aware that you may have several stops or change of planes if you booked through RCCL without deviation fee paid.
One way to get deviation fee waived is to join Crown and Anchor Society. It's a good thing. There's usually Crown and Anchor get togethers on board and you always get some token (one time it was a tote bag with the name of the ship on it, the other time it was a toiletry bag, etc.)in your stateroom/suite. You'll have to have one cruise under your belt first though. Here's some info:
