Celebrating a Birthday on the Explorer

We are cruising on the Explorer in November. My friend will have a birthday while we are on the cruise. Can I arrange for a cake with Royal Carribbean, or should I do this with my Travel Agent?

Look here for the details. Just see the maitre'd at the desk in the main dining room entrance. I'd go there in the morning and order it for that evening. You can also see your waiter, but if you want it to be a surprise it may be hard to order it with your waiter if your friend is nearby.

It is typical to be asked if a special occasion will be happening during the cruise when you make the booking. Did you say your friend was having a birthday?

I didn't give a complete answer. Cakes used to be free and my agent has ordered them for me, but not lately. It may be possible for your agent to get a cake for no charge. I'd ask before I paid for it.
