I know that on the carnival ships everything is included, except liquor, pop, specialty restarants. I know how different cruise line have different policies. Do you know off hand if rccl includes everything as well? such as all entertainment(skating, rock climbing, flow rider, ice cream bar, pizza ect..) I'm really considering going on the oasis of the seas and seing as how that ship offers so much do you think it will all be included. I looked on line but could not find the right information. Does the freedom include everything but liquor, pop, specialty restaurants? Thank you very much for any answers.
No telling what will be included in the cruise fare, or what will be extra-fee on the Oasis. At present Royal Caribbean charges extra for the following: soda, alcohol, specialty restaurants (Chops, Portofino, and Johnny Rockets), room service from midnight to 5am, specialty coffees and some desserts at the cafes on some ships, anything at Ben & Jerry's ice cream stands (which are on most ships), and some steaks on a couple of ships in the main dining room (oh, but it is just a marketing test...going on for 8 months now). At least at present the ice skating, rock climbing, flow rider, and pizza are included in your cruise fare.
I hate to sound jaded - especially being an RCI Diamond C&A member - but I will not be surprised to see many new revenue centers on the Oasis (aka - ways to extract more money from the passengers). I hope to be proved wrong, but I anticipate many things on the Boardwalk to cost extra (hot dogs, fortune telling, perhaps cotton candy) along with many other things.
I can avoid all the extra charge items if I want, and my kids are cruise savvy enough now to know also, but how would you like to be taking the kids on a first time cruise and having to referee all week what they could do and consume without extra fees? It would be a lot like going to Target at home I would imagine.

Wow Sonny aren't you even a little bit curious about this ship? I was surprised to see you hadn't booked yet just thought you were waiting, never thought you weren't really interested.
