Majesty of the Seas..first cruise

Anyone go on the ship since the refurbishment? I am a first time cruiser and truly excited...If all goes well January the Oasis of the Seas!!

The Majesty offers a nice cruise. Even though the ship was refreshed a while back it is still an old ship and therefore you should expect some things to be "quaint". The standard cabins are very small at 119 square feet, but they are fine for a short cruise.

A first-timer usually is impressed no matter what the ship, so I'm sure you'll have a great time. Expect good (not 5 star) food, excellent shows and entertainment, and fine service from that great Royal Caribbean staff. Also expect to hand your cruise card over often if you are buying anything.

I can tell you that if you do the Oasis after the Majesty you will be stunned by the differences.

My first cruise was on the Majesty back in October of 2007. This was a great cruise for me, and I went on one since then, and have another one coming up this October.

I think you'll like the Majesty, and people have said that's a great ship to pick for a first cruise!

I guess I should say my first Royal Caribbean cruise was on the Majesty 18 years ago! It was a new ship then, and on our cruise we set the record for largest passenger load for Royal Caribbean.

I think it's great when a first time cruiser sails on the Majesty or Monarch before they book a mega sized ship.

I had heard this is a good length to start on for first time to make sure I have my "sea legs"..I have already looked into the oasis..in my mind I have already decided to book it in Jan/Feb if all goes well...once the travel agent told me to look at it I was done!! Lol...The only thing now is to pick out shore excursions...

We have sailed on the Majesty and the Explorer and enjoyed them both.

I agree it is the best first-time cruising ship. The staff members were awesome. I recommend dining in the dining room as often as possible (lunch and breakfast)...
I personally think you should wait one year for a ship to work out its kinks before cruising on a new ship. (We waited 6 months on a Holland ship....it wasn't long enough! LOL)

We've sailed on Majesty several times and have another booked in August. As Dave said she is an older ship but her refurb was wonderful. The crew had always been very welcoming and friendly...we love her.
