European Day Excursions on Voyager of the Seas

Hi there, Can anyone tell us about the day excursions available from the Voyager of the Seas? We are not sure of the cost of the day trips or if they are our best bet at all ports? We are interested in seeing Rome, Florence, Nice etc but don't know if this is something we can do ourselves or if it's best to book the tours through the cruise line. And should we be booking in advance if we do the excursions? Thanks in advance!

Check www.royalcaribbean.com for shore excursions. In my opinion they are expensive.
