For those who have cruised RCI to Alaska - which side of the ship offers the best vistas?

Actually there is no right or wrong side - if you are on an inside passage cruise - the views are awesome from both sides. There is no guarantee what you will be looking at while in port as it really depends on which pier and how they dock the ship that determines the view (and it is not necessarily the same each time).

We cruised north from Vancouver to Alaska last August. Our cabin was right side, but as NancyN said it probably does not make much of a difference once the ship enters the inside passage. I set my camera tripod up on the balcony and just attached the camera to it whenever necessary to take pictures. However, I spent a lot of time on the upper deck so I could look at both sides of the ship as we were going through the passage; there are things to see all around.
