My husband and I were on the Adventure last July and we will be sailing in 3 days on the Voyager in the Mediterranean! We wanted to order a cocktail with our dinner last year, but our waiter said we could only order wine, and it had to be the same kind of wine each night. I was confused, and the waiter didn't speak English very well, so I just didn't order a drink just to make things easier. But before we get on this next cruise I would like to understand if I am able to order a cocktail or glass of wine at the table before dinner. Anyone know?

Hum, every cruise we have been on, we always have wine or other mixed drinks with dinner. They have a bartender who patrols the dining room, just to take bar orders. The regular dining room waiters, send over the bartender to our table. Lil' Lori

One thing for sure, you won't have the same waiter... . If you would have talked to your head waiter you probably would have gotten your cocktail. I never heard of the same kind of wine every night. Your waiter probably didn't understand your request. Let us know how you like the Voyager. Have a great cruise!

Bonnie,
You can certainly order drinks/glass of wine at dinner. However, the order is taken by the bar staff and not the waiter at your table. There are usually only a limited number of bar staff working the entire dining room - so let your request be known early. An alternative option is to purchase a cocktail at one of the lounges just beofre entering the dining room.

Thank you everyone. I know our dinners will be more relaxing now that we understand the procedure for ordering drinks!

The sommelier has always been the person taking my cocktail order and delivering to the table. After the second night, he was always there to take my cocktail order.
