We will be on the "Explorer of the Seas" this February and am talking about visiting St. John's Trunk Bay Beach (believe this is the name of the beach), while docked at St. Thomas. My question is I would be ok with taking the ship's excursion but my husband wants to go on his own without being on an excursion. Any suggestions on the best way of getting to St. John's from the ship's dock and than suggestions on getting to Trunk Bay Beach once on St. Johns. We've been to St. John's while staying on St. Thomas before but rented a car and took the car ferry over, not sure if this would be the best way for just a day trip.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Jean
