carry on alcohol & tsa

we enjoy buying duty free alcohol while on a cruise, but how do we get it home now that tsa will only allow a 3oz container of liquid on board aircraft? does anyone have a solution?

You have to check it in as baggage.

But wont it get broken? Do they have a special packing box for checking it at luggage? I've watched them throw the luggage around.

They try their best to package it up for the flight. I brought back a few bottle of liquor from San Juan and it made it no problem. You just need to make sure its in the middle of your suitcase and not near any edge to minimize any risk.

If you buy duty free alcohol or purfume from the duty free in the airport after the sercurity gates, you may carry it on. They will deliver it to your gate or put it in a security bag that can only be opened once and if it is opened you can not take it onto the plane (they did this in San Juan). In Newark they delivered to the plane.
