Monarch of the Sea Deck 8

I recently changed rooms from an inside stateroom on deck 2 (with NO view) to the obstructive oceanview on deck 8. I found out that deck 8 with a view was the same price as deck 2. I'm mid ship #8024. With my luck I'll probably have that room with a life boat ALL in the WAY and still have no view. The thing is- It's not costing me any extra to have that room. I think it's still a good deal.

Does anyone know what kind of view I'll have?

Well I have been on Majesty and Sovereign (sister ships, identical layout) on deck 8 obstructed views and you can see the landscape fine, but when you look up you see the bottom of a lifeboat...

That's neat. I live in Georgia and the closest port for me is the one close to Orlando. This is my first time cruising with RCC but not my first cruise. I'm very interested to compair RCC with Carnival. It seems like to me that RCC may have a few more mature people on their cruise line.
