I also highly reccomend the "Rome on Your Own" option, when we went, our group made a pact that everyone chose their own excursions, and if we happened to go together, more fun. If not...dinner every night was hours long with everyone sharing(something I really enjoyed). My companions did the "Rome-A-Thon"...I don't know what the ship calls it but you get to the Sistine Chapel. Although I missed that, Rome on my own was just right for me....loved finding all the historic sites on my own, and finding many little places just as charming. Also, as is my custom, made time for a bottle of wine with alot of people watching for lunch. That's my favorite part...ALWAYS !!

While cruising, I've notice that not many people know about ordering more than one entree. However, my sons are well aware of this. On our last cruise one ordered 2 lobster dinners and the other one order 3 steak dinners. The waiter was very kind in going back to the kitchen for more. He even stood by my son to see if he really could eat 3 steaks. He did!

I can do a Lobster dinner and a Prime Rib dinner. But not 3 steaks.

Thanks for the welcome, Dwayne. My son skips the appetizer and salad and goes right for the meat! I was shocked when his brother told me, the waiter was going to get the 3rd steak. They were sitting at the table next to me with their cousins and friends. The waiter really enjoyed serving them and talking with them. Our waiter got a huge applause from our tables, during the night they parade through the dining room. His waiter friends thought we were friends and family, because we cheered so loud for him. He gave us outstanding service and deserved his huge applause.
