Hi everybody!
I guess it really is true. I just got off AOS May 13th, and I have really felt low this week. It must be time to book another cruise. We are interested in an Alaskan cruise this time. I am so afraid that AOS has spoiled me, she is a fantastic ship! Anybody know anything about Vision, Rhapsody, or Radiance? Also what month is best for an Alaskan cruise. Thanks.

I was on Rhapsody a few months ago and although I had a great time it wasn't the ship that did it for me. There was a great crew onboard at that time, one of the best I've ever experienced. The ship herself was probably a little beow average in the beauty, condition, convenience aspects. Vision is even older but haven't been on her so can't speak for that ship. I beleive the best bet would be Radiance. Beautiful ship a little newer than the others and I get glowing reviews of her from clients.

Whichever you choose, I hope you have a wonderful cruise!

Cheers, Neil

You can go to Alaska in a Kayak and it will still be a Wonderful Trip...as the younger set says "It's Totally Awesome"

We went to Alaska on the Radiance in July 2005 and absolutely loved the ship. It is a little smaller than some of the newer ships, but my preference is the Radiance over the Explorer. Don't get me wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed the Explorer, but perhaps the intimacy (if you can call a 2300 passenger ship intimate), combined with the itinerary of Alaska made it our highlight ship thus far.

The food was outstanding, the crew was outstanding (although I maintain our cabin steward on the Explorer, Dean, was the best yet), the kids program was excellent, and the entertainment was terrific.

We had a balcony cabin #9584, on the "bubble", (for Alaska, I recommend nothing less than a balcony), that held the four of us comfortably. We were able to see so much from the comfort of our own balcony, including magnificent sunsets (late at night!), whales, bald eagles, and beautiful scenery. We had a "front row" seat when we went to Hubbard Glacier.

I can't recommend the Radiance enough. I think you'd love it.

Thank you all so much for the advice. Unfortunately I have to wait a little while to book, but I think we are going to go with Radiance.
