Traveling with a child who is disabled Make A Wish

Hello!
My son has been granted a Make A Wish cruise to be like a pirate. He is in a power wheel chair, but has mobility, just limited. He is 7 years old. We will be on the Adventure of the Seas. I would love any suggestions for what to do on and off the ship.

A good thing about the Adventure is that it is so easy for those in chairs to get around. A friend of mine who has to use a wheelchair went on the Mariner last year and had a good time.

The crew works well with disabled passengers, and your son will not be the only one in a chair. Every cruise I have been on for the past few years has found chairs in the passageways plugged in for recharging.

Hello wishasea, welcome to Cruise-Chat. My wife need a wheelchair to get on and off the ship after her back surgery. They will take your whole family right up to you stateroom. On board the ship you will have to rent a powered wheelchair. You should also ask for a handicap room. They are big enough for wheelchair access.

From what I heard, Yes. You aren't allow to bring your own wheelchair on the ship.
