documents?

hello all
i booked my crusie about a week or so ago and was wondering when i should be getting my documents and what that enclueds? also how many bags can we bring? i know about the carry on and i have read up on this subject and most things i read say look at your air line requirements. we will be driving to the port!

Look here for guidance on cruise docs. Actually you need to check in on-line at the RCI website, which you can do with a link at the bottom of the webpage I provided above. When you check in on-line, you will be able to print a Set Sail Pass which is all you need to have with you at the pier (well, your ID and method of payment for the shipboard account too). You just present the Set Sail pass, your ID, and payment method (credit card for most) to the agent. No need for a big booklet of cruise documents. Many don't even issue hard copy docs anymore, just going with e-docs. However the RCI hard copy docs will have luggage tags in them.

You can also get luggage tags from the porters when you arrive at the pier. They won't take your luggage without a tag on it.

RCI just says "a reasonable amount" of luggage may be brought aboard. Most people overpack and never use half the stuff they bring. It is just a few days after all. Unless you are in a suite, the cabins on the Majesty Of The Seas are not very spacious. Closet and drawer space is not conducive to large amounts of clothing.

Most cruise lines have gone to doing everything through electronic documents. However; Royal Caribbean is still sending out a document booking with luggage tags. The document book will have the luggage tags, the cruise contract, boarding pass information, and a form to set up your set sail on board account for purchases on the ship. I don't know why RCI is still wasting the postage to mail these packages out. Everything is online. For my last RCI cruise I went to their website and filled out the online registration. You can find it under "Before You Board" section. Once you fill out the online registration you can print out your Sail and Pass, take it with your proof of citizenship, and your registered credit card to the pier. You'll be all set.

You will have to store luggage under your bed or in the closet. I would try to limit it to one carry on and one large luggage per person.

My sister is cruising with us this time and she does not have an email account or access to the internet, Yes that's right there still are some of these old fashion folk around. She was sent a standard hard copy documents and read every single word of the contract, twice. She may never realize the benefits of the web
