We will be on the Liberty in 5 days I personally found the steak in Chops chewy and tough. Portafino, on the hand, is superb! Every time we have eaten, or as I should say, "Dined", the service and the food are amazing. We are contemplating trying chops again this year.

Another question, on b2b, is the menu the same each week, eventhough the itinerary is different?

Dave, I noticed your comment about being able to reserve Chops once your booking is paid off. We paid off our cruise last week and I have been checking to make restaurant reservations ever since, but it still says no reservable restaurants are available at this time for our cruise. Any idea how far in advance they will become available?

Not sure about the time frame for them opening. I know they are open for the Oasis sailing for December 1. I'll bet it is 60 days.

Jerseygirl74, I'm not sure about the menu on a b2b. We've only done 14 and 21 day itineraries and the menu was changed, but these were not b2b cruises. Maybe Sonny or Queenofcruizin will know, I think they've both done b2b, maybe Dave has, too.

That works...I can decide which night to dine for the following week after I see what we have each night. Will they let us book onboard for the following week?

Dave is right, the menus doesn't change. If you're on a b2b you can make reservations for the second week while on board the first week.

We just returned off of Freedom today. This is the 3rd cruise in a row that the fillet in Portafino beat the steaks we had in Chops....no comparison in my opinion. Chops was not bad by any means....still a good meal and experience.

If I had to make a choice between the two, I'd choose Portofino's over Chops.
