are you allowed to go to the Main Dining room in shorts ... I know you have to dress up in evening but wondered if shorts and tank tops are ok for breakfast and lunch

Hi,

the above is usually not considered appropriate in a ship's dining room.

I would suggest wearing at the very least a T-Shirt and slacks.

cj,
Actually in the main dining rooms on RC, shorts are permissible for breakfast and lunch, but tank tops are not. (They are acceptable in the Windjammer Buffet). Having had a teenager cruise with me on numerous occassions, I know the importance they place on casual wear.

No shorts at night in the main dining room - resort casual is fine, but not shorts.

In fact, one night we were outside the main dining room of the POA and an older man wandered in wearing only his bathing suit - no shirt, shoes, etc. Staff met him at the doorway and quickly escorted him out. I think we was disoriented, but they got him right out of there.

If you want to wear shorts, you can have dinner in the buffet.
